The Aaghosh Program is an important welfare project launched by the Government of Pakistan and various welfare organisations. The Aghosh Program is a welfare initiative that aims to provide pregnant women in Pakistan with the medical, nutritional and financial support they need during pregnancy and after delivery. Under this program, low-income women are provided with quality health services, nutritional supplements, vaccinations, maternal and child care awareness and cash assistance. The objectives of the Aghosh program are:

  • To reduce maternal and child mortality rates 
  • provide free medical check-ups to pregnant women 
  • Provide free medicines to pregnant women
  • provide nutritious food and supplements
  • provide financial assistance to meet basic needs during pregnancy
  • provide pre- and post-natal care

Facilities Provided Under the Agosh Program

The main objective of the Aghosh program is to provide basic facilities and 38000 to low-income pregnant women so that they do not face any difficulties during pregnancy and the post-natal period. The details of the facilities provided under the Aghosh program are as follows:

  • Registered women are provided with free check-ups 
  • Essential nutritional supplements are provided 
  • Financial assistance is provided to women at specific stages so that they can meet their nutritional needs 
  • Training workshops and lectures are organised on maternal and child health

Eligibility Criteria Agosh Program

To benefit from the Aghosh program, it is necessary to meet the following conditions:

  • The woman must be pregnant 
  • The child must be under two years of age 
  • must have an identity card issued by NADRA 
  • The woman must belong to a low-income family 
  • The woman must also be registered with the BISP or Ehsaas program
  • The woman must belong to one of the relevant districts

Required Documents for Registration 

To join the Aghosh program, contact the nearest primary health centre or district health officer. To register in the Aghosh program, you must have the following documents:

  • Identity card 
  • marriage certificate
  • pregnancy report
  • Be residents of the relevant districts
  • Registered mobile number

Registration Process

The registration procedure for the Aghosh program is as follows:

  • Go to the nearest existing health centre 
  • present the required documents 
  • obtained from the lady health visitor or health staff 
  • Enter the data through the EMR system

You will be notified if the registration is successful.
