Punjab Livestock Scheme
The Punjab Livestock Scheme has been launched under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. The cost of this project has been set at two billion, under which free cows, buffaloes and goats will be provided to women in 12 villages of southern Punjab. The objective of the Punjab Livestock Scheme is as follows:
- Making women independent
- Giving economic autonomy to widowed and divorced women with income
- Increasing milk and meat production
- Reducing poverty in backward areas
- Reducing poverty
- Providing business opportunities for women
- Providing social security and welfare assistance
This scheme is a welfare and economic project that aims not only to provide animals but also to provide a sustainable source of employment.The distribution of animals will be done in stages through a lottery.
Eligibility Criteria for Getting a Free Animal
This scheme has been launched to make poor and needy women independent. The government has set an eligibility criteria for the beneficiaries of this scheme. Those women who meet this eligibility criteria can benefit from this scheme. The eligibility criteria are listed below.
- The applicant woman should be under 55 years of age
- The applicant woman should be widowed, divorced or destitute
- The applicant woman should have a domicile in Punjab
- The applicant’s poverty score should be less than 32.
- There should be no other large animals in the house
- Original Nadra ID card
- Registered mobile number

The animals will be supplied through a lottery. The registration method in the mobile app is as follows:
- Download the app from the Google Play Store
- create an account
- fill out the form with the required documents
- submit a certificate if you have not owned an animal before
- Submit CNIC
- Submit required address
- Submit domicile certificate and utility bill
- Upload file and click on submit
You will receive SMS on successful registration.

If you do not have the facility of online registration of Punjab Livestock Scheme, then you can also register offline. For offline registration, you will have to visit your nearest existing veterinary hospital or livestock department office. For registration, you must have the following documents:
- Copy of CNIC
- Punjab domicile
- utility bill
- relevant certificate for widow or divorce
- complete poverty score
- registered mobile number
Fill out the form with the required documents and submit it to the required officers.
