Ration Card Scheme for Suthra Punjab Workers, Local Government Minister Zeeshan Rafique announced on July 11, 2025, in Punjab, at the inauguration of a new institute in Seven Secrets, that the Punjab government has decided to expand the scope of the Chief Minister’s Ration Card Scheme to workers of the Suthra Punjab program.
On this occasion, Zeeshan Rafique said that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has specifically approved the inclusion of sanitation and environmental workers of Suthra Punjab in the ration card scheme, so that their economic condition can improve.
The event held at Seven Secrets, where he expressed his determination to implement this initiative in an organized and transparent manner.
What is the Suthra Punjab program?
Suthra Punjab is a sanitation and environmental reform project, which is underway across Punjab since December 3, 2024
Under this, solid waste collection, cleaning process with modern machinery, monitoring through GPS and mobile tracking, and door-to-door garbage collection have been provided in our cities and villages.
This program received a budget of Rs 120 billion, created more than 100,000 jobs, and introduced control rooms and digital monitoring systems across Punjab.
Ration Card Scheme:
- On April 30, 2025, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz announced a monthly subsidy of Rs 3,000 under the Ration Card Scheme for industrial and social security workers through the JS Bank Zindagi Card.
- This scheme was designed for more than 1.25 lakh families, and consists of a package of Rs 84 billion.
